5 key facts about this project
01
Plastered brick facade connects the building to its vineyard context.
02
Reclaimed wooden slats provide a unique aesthetic and sustainability aspect.

Terraces in guest rooms enhance views of the surrounding landscape.
05
Private pools in front of loggias offer exclusive outdoor experiences.

The Golden Oak Wine Hotel is thoughtfully designed to blend with its landscape of sprawling vineyards. Serving as a destination for relaxation and well-being, the hotel combines guest accommodations with spa facilities, inviting visitors to engage with the natural environment. The overall concept focuses on creating a connection between the building and its surroundings while establishing a recognizable presence.

ARCHITECTURAL ORGANIZATION

The layout consists of two main blocks, each serving a distinct purpose. The first block is set down the hill and contains the guest rooms. The second block extends to the rear and is dedicated to the spa. This arrangement promotes an easy flow between the hotel and spa, enhancing the guest experience through proximity and convenience.

PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SPACES

On the first level, the public areas are designed for accessibility and comfort. Guests enter through a welcoming reception area, which leads to a bar, restaurant, event spaces, and outdoor seating options. This layout allows for straightforward access to social and dining spaces. The lower levels are focused on guest rooms, with each level containing 11 rooms in various categories, offering diverse choices for visitors.

ROOM CONFIGURATIONS

The second and third levels feature a range of accommodations to meet different needs. Level 2 includes 10 standard rooms and one suite, each designed with a terrace that provides lovely views of the vineyards. Level 3 offers slightly larger superior rooms, including a loggia for better privacy, and connects to the spa area through an underground passage. This design choice ensures guests can reach the spa easily, even during bad weather. Level 4 also includes 10 superior rooms and one suite, all featuring private pools that enhance the luxury experience.

MATERIAL EXPRESSION

The choice of materials plays an important role in the hotel’s design. A lightly plastered brick facade represents the trunk and roots of a grapevine, grounding the structure in its natural environment. Wooden slats, made from repurposed French wine barrels, provide a unique element in the design that ties back into the vineyard theme. Altogether, these materials contribute to a cohesive and pleasant atmosphere, inviting guests to enjoy both the building and its surroundings.
