05
Focus on community engagement through thoughtfully arranged shared areas.

The Alexandra Road project addresses the modern needs of urban living, aiming to enhance both connectivity and community interaction within a residential estate. The design concept revolves around the implementation of Plan Zero, which optimizes the ground floor to create a blend of private and public spaces. The goal is to foster engagement among residents while accommodating diverse housing needs within a cohesive architectural framework.

Urban Connectivity

The design emphasizes urban connectivity through the creation of a new passage that serves as a central route within the estate. This pathway is flanked by public spaces and commercial areas, increasing accessibility and encouraging movement among residents and visitors. An additional residential unit is incorporated into the expansion of Block C, specifically designed for two occupants, thereby diversifying housing options without compromising the architectural character of existing structures.

Public Space Enhancement

A major component of the plan is the enhancement of public spaces at the ground floor level, which promotes community engagement. By reorganizing existing areas and increasing the availability of shared spaces, the design seeks to facilitate social interactions and create a sense of belonging among residents. This focus on public space is essential to the overall vision, making the estate a more inviting place to live.

Permeability and Accessibility

The project significantly improves the permeability of the lot by 26.35%, allowing for easier navigation throughout the area. This increase in accessibility enables smoother movement between living spaces and communal areas, enriching the experience of residents. Elements of the design work together to create an open atmosphere that encourages interaction and connection.

Landscape Integration

Attention to the relationship between the redesigned park and the surrounding landscape is notable. The project connects the park to existing routes, which encourages outdoor activities and a stronger bond with nature. This thoughtful integration of green spaces enhances the urban environment, offering a better quality of life for residents.

The design culminates in a blend of residential units, communal spaces, and landscape features, with pathways and gardens that invite exploration and social interaction, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for everyone in the estate.
