We are an interdisciplinary team of architects, designers, and scenographers who collaborate closely and share a strong friendship. Based in Argentina, Dodds Estudio, in occasional collaboration with Agustina Andrade, focuses on design and architecture projects in different scales. In Norway, Matias Germana is dedicated to bringing scenography projects to life for the National Theater of Oslo.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

We focus on projects that emphasize the human scale, considering each user's lifestyle and the interaction with their environment and existing conditions. Our work spans residential design, workspaces, furniture, outdoor areas, and theatrical scenography. We are particularly passionate about developing construction details that not only define the unique character of each project but also contribute to a more efficient construction process.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

We believe that architecture is a way of engaging with the world, relating to our surroundings, and interpreting the landscape. We see an architect's role as being deeply respectful of the personal dynamics of each individual who inhabits the space, observant of both the artificial and natural contexts surrounding the architecture, and responsible with the material and economic resources necessary for every project

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

We are very interested in participating in architecture competitions, as they provide an opportunity to engage with unique projects and unfamiliar contexts. These competitions offer challenges that promote both personal and professional growth.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

We believe it is crucial to continuously expand our horizons, take on new challenges, and face situations that help develop our professional skills. We encourage every professional to participate in competitions that not only present a challenge but also offer an opportunity to engage in something interesting and out of the ordinary. Forming specific work teams for each competition is an excellent way to practice flexibility and collaborate with different people who can bring diverse perspectives and ways of thinking.
