What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture and design shape the way people experience and connect with the world around them. Thoughtful design creates places that encourage reflection, bring people together, and strengthen the relationship between people and their surroundings. By responding to human needs and context, architecture helps people feel more connected to themselves, others, and the places they inhabit.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

Architecture competitions give designers the freedom to explore new building types, challenge conventions, and test ideas that may not be possible within the constraints of commercial projects. They create opportunities to experiment with new concepts, materials, and ways of thinking, pushing both the designer and the discipline forward.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Architecture competitions give designers a structured way to test new techniques and explore ideas that go beyond the limits of typical project constraints. They help strengthen design skills by encouraging experimentation, problem-solving, and exploration of new architectural approaches.
