Linear Form Overlooking Vineyard with Integrated Hospitality Spaces

Project in-detail

5 key facts about this project
01
A linear box structure minimizes visual impact while offering functional versatility.
02
The design integrates seamlessly with the hillside to enhance the natural landscape.
03
Two distinct blocks are allocated for the Wine Hotel and an exhibition area.
04
Upper-level access provides guests with panoramic vineyard views.
05
The project emphasizes a balance between open and enclosed spaces for engagement with nature.

The project located in Monte d'Oiro works within a beautiful landscape and reflects a thoughtful approach to design. It features a minimalist structure that prioritizes its connection with the natural surroundings. The design centers on a slender box that is inserted into the hill, allowing it to contain all necessary functions while keeping the aesthetic of the landscape intact. This careful placement enhances the experience for visitors and emphasizes the importance of the region's wine culture.

Design Integration

The building's linear form acts as a subtle addition to the landscape. By positioning it mainly within the hillside, it minimizes visual disruption. From the northern path where visitors arrive, the building remains mostly hidden, creating a sense of mystery. This strategic choice allows the landscape to maintain its visual continuity while inviting exploration of the site.

Functional Arrangement

Inside, the design accommodates various spaces needed for wine hospitality and events. The upper level offers access to two distinct sections: the Wine Hotel and an exhibition area. These parts are designed with a different architectural style but remain relevant to the overall concept. The organization of these spaces promotes smooth movement for users, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Spatial Experience

A balanced approach was taken to create both open and enclosed areas that encourage interaction with the landscape. Occupants can enjoy views and a connection to nature, reinforcing the relationship between the building and its environment. This setup not only serves the functional needs of the project but also adds depth to the experience of those who engage with the space.

Focus on simple lines and a clear design intention reflects a commitment to creating a cohesive narrative. Architectural details enhance the visual experience while respecting the local heritage and traditions of winemaking. This attention to detail helps craft a space that feels both inviting and connected to its setting.
