Gray Roof Structure Creating Fluid Connections Amid Lake Views

Project in-detail

A large gray roof structure seamlessly connects multiple courtyards and provides expansive views of the lake, accommodating diverse functions such as living spaces, artist studios, and an exhibition hall.
5 key facts about this project
01
A large gray roof serves as a unifying element while providing shade and shelter.
02
Integrated courtyards enhance natural light and promote outdoor connectivity.
03
The design prioritizes expansive lake views from key living areas.
04
Flexible exhibition hall accommodates diverse artistic and communal activities.
05
Local wood resources are utilized, supporting sustainability and regional character.

The "ROOF and ROAD" project is situated near a tranquil lake and serves both residential and multifunctional purposes. It accommodates a range of users, including a painter and their family. The design focuses on creating a strong connection between living spaces and the surrounding environment. Flowing spatial arrangements allow natural light to fill the interior, fostering a sense of vibrancy and engagement.

Design Concept

This design emphasizes a clear relationship between the inside and outside. A large roof structure not only provides shelter but also connects various outdoor areas. The courtyards integrated into the layout enhance the experience of the building, filling it with natural light that supports creative activities and social interactions.

Functional Layout

Within the building, different areas serve distinct purposes. The large studio is positioned to face the lake, allowing occupants to enjoy expansive views. A utility room serves as a practical gray space, which makes access easy. The semi-basement area functions as a flexible exhibition hall, providing a space for displaying artistic works and accommodating various events.

Material Utilization

Materials in the construction include wood and steel, both contributing to the building's stability and aesthetic quality. The choice of local wood resources aligns with sustainability goals and adds warmth to the spaces. These materials not only fulfill practical roles but also enhance the look and feel of the interior and exterior environments.

The design culminates in a balanced composition of open and private spaces, framed by the building's form and its relationship to the lake. Each aspect is carefully considered, resulting in a harmonious environment that invites exploration and engagement.
