Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.
Atelier Quyet Tien NGO based in Hanoi , Vietnam , 5 employers. Quyet Tien NGO : studied Architecture in Huce Hanoi Vietnam, ENSA-Marseille France and Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne, Switzeland. Received his Master’s degree in 2011 with a mention of excellence. He worked for the French firm Christian de Portzamparc in Paris, and contributed to a number projects of various different scale, from Grand Paris (Urban strategy for Paris) to buildings like the Nanjing opera or mixte use in Maribor.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?
Small and medium scale project: culture, sport and retreat artist project. Winner of grand prix Afex 2025 associate with Andstudio.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Quyet Tien developed his thinking of architecture following three questions: What the site wants to be? What the program wants to become? What is the reality of the work? For each project he must find a catalyst to address these three questions. He hopes architecture can improve society through his work.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
This competition gave me the opportunity to develop my architectural imagination in a fundamental and original way.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
“Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.” — Salvador Dalí. I believe he’s right.
