Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

Our team was founded in 2019, based on a lifelong collaboration between Maria Valentina Cosani and Francesco Corvino. After having earned their Master’s degrees in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan (MArch), and acquired further specialization in design and visual effects in the US, they have brought their unique expertise all over the world, from the golden shores of Los Angeles to the huge film studios of London. They are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of imagination, blending creativity with technology to create groundbreaking designs.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

With a global footprint, we serve clients across continents, delivering unique and captivating designs that resonate across industries, from physical architecture to films, TV series, theme parks, immersive experiences, and the Metaverse. Among our projects: Set design for shows like Shogun, Game of Thrones, Thor and The Nevers, architectural concept design for several landmark projects in the Middle East, and experiential designs and installations for the new Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid and Wanda’s Pearl Quest theme park ride in China.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

As architects we strive to push architecture beyond its traditional confines where effective logic and extraordinary imagination coalesce, creating new uncharted worlds. A unique blend of architecture and storytelling that never ceases to amaze.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

Competitions provide opportunities to tackle innovative design challenges, fostering skill development and creativity, and exploring new ideas and design approaches that might not be encountered in everyday work.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

We stronly encourage students, professionals, or anyone interested in architecture to take advantage of the unique opportunities offered by architectural competions.A designer should always strive to push his or her creativity, and his/her critical thinking and how to apply it effectively to unique design challenges and scenarios.
