Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.
In early 2024, we completed our master’s programs, with Thomas in Architecture and Samantha in Interior Architecture. We have transitioned into the professional field but still dedicate time to working together on collaborative projects.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?
While our experience ranges from residential to commercial projects, we like engage in conceptual work to keep our creativity flowing.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
To us, architecture is about designing environments that reflect the individuality of each project. Rooted in phenomenology, we believe the architect's role is to not only solve challenges but also to engage the senses, evoke emotions, and shape the way people interact with their surroundings.
Why do you participate in architecture competitions?
Architecture competitions allow us to step away from the grounded world, as they offer the freedom to explore innovative ideas and push creative boundaries that are often not possible in traditional projects.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?
Participating in architecture competitions can be incredibly beneficial, even if you’re unsure about the outcome. You walk away with a unique project that can become a valuable addition to your portfolio. It’s an opportunity to challenge your creativity, learn new skills, and showcase your work.
