We are a group of four third-year engineering students from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. We met in 2022, and after our first year of studies, we decided to collaborate on various competitions. Throughout this journey, we have consistently relied on the support of Professor Jerzy Wojewódka, who has been our mentor and guide.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

You could say this is just the beginning of our architectural journey, and we are excited to be here. It provides us with a great deal of motivation to keep pushing forward and improving our skills.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

From the outset of our collaboration, we knew we wanted to create architecture that serves people. For us, architecture is primarily about responding to the needs of those who will use the space. The role of the architect, above all, is to understand the users' expectations by engaging with them and their environment. With this philosophy in mind, we approached the creative process for our project, The Bridge.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

Participating in architectural competitions not only allows us to grow but also helps us face a variety of challenges and explore design solutions in different contexts—whether social, environmental, or otherwise.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

These competitions broaden our horizons and offer invaluable opportunities to learn how to work effectively as a team, a skill that is essential in the architectural profession.
