Rammed Earth Corridor Connecting a Tranquil Yoga Room with Forest Views

Project in-detail

A rammed earth corridor leads seamlessly to a yoga room surrounded by expansive forest views, creating a tranquil environment for mindfulness and practice.
5 key facts about this project
01
Rammed earth construction forms the corridor, enhancing thermal mass and natural insulation.
02
The yoga room's sliding glass doors open to a U-shaped porch, bridging indoor and outdoor spaces.
03
Extensive rainwater collection utilizes the large roof area for efficient resource management.
04
A dedicated tea room on the upper level provides serene forest views for contemplation.
05
Careful orientation maximizes natural light and scenic vistas of the surrounding mountains.

The design in Vale de Moses is set in a tranquil forest and is dedicated to yoga and mindfulness practices. The building merges with its natural surroundings, creating a space that enhances the experience of those who use it. The overall concept promotes functionality while ensuring a calming atmosphere and a strong connection to nature.

Integration with Nature

The project consists of two main parts: a corridor and a yoga room. The corridor is made from rammed earth, which connects the building to the ground. This material choice adds a natural touch and helps ground the structure within its environment. The corridor also includes essential facilities, such as restrooms, showers, storage, and a bench. This layout meets practical needs while keeping the main areas for yoga separate and distinct.

Spatial Experience

The yoga room is designed as an open space that encourages flexibility in use. It is positioned to take advantage of views of the mountains and sky, creating a connection with the surrounding landscape. Large sliding glass doors lead to a U-shaped porch that extends the indoor area into the outdoor space. This design allows natural light to shine into the yoga room, enriching the experience and fostering a deeper bond with nature.

Sustainability Considerations

Sustainability plays an important role in this design. The large roof area collects rainwater, which is directed into gutters and stored for use in the restrooms. This efficient water management reflects an awareness of environmental responsibility and resource conservation. The plan does not just focus on aesthetics, but also on practical solutions that benefit both users and the environment.

Final Detail

At the upper level, a tea room features a large window framing peaceful views of the forest. This detail provides a quiet space for reflection and adds richness to the overall experience. It invites users to pause and engage with the calming surroundings, enhancing the architectural narrative while maintaining a focus on tranquility and connection.
