What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of the architect in your society?

Architecture is a big part of our life. As friends we discuss it no matter where we are or what we see, and often go to talks and lectures to gain more knowledge. Denmark has a long and strong tradition when it comes to architecture and design. It is known as “architecture to- and for people” which is what we always try to achieve in our designs.

Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?

We participated in this competition thanks to the openness of the brief and our common interest in the theme: creativity. It gave us the opportunity to test the tools we have learned during our degrees in the real world without the restrictions of a university assignment.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?

It is a good opportunity for practicing new ways of analysing, designing and communicating graphically. It will teach you a lot about your own capabilities and help develop your gut feeling of what is right and what is wrong when it comes to architecture. Furthermore it will help shape you has an architect.
