Please tell us about your company (when it was founded, where it is based, how many employees, etc) Alternatively, if you do not have a company, please give us some insights on your own professional/academia background.

I am a student at Halla University (South Korea). I studied landscape architecture for three years in high school, followed by a year as a designer for a small interior company. Now that I'm in college, I'm majoring in architecture. Gaining knowledge in these interconnected areas has been extremely beneficial for me.

Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/ individuals have been Involved?

I am attentive to communicating with nature. I aim to incorporate all aspects of nature, regardless of whether they are tangible or not, into the space.

What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

Architecture is communication. Architects communicate with history, society, nature, and people.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

I enjoy competitions partly because I see them as a form of communication. I research the subject and develop my own solutions. Since no two solutions are ever the same, I also explore other people's ideas to discover different perspectives and potentially better approaches. The Home of Shadows was a fascinating topic to engage with and communicate through design.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Everyone has the ability to communicate and take part in competitions. Communication isn’t solely about winning—it's about expressing your ideas. Don’t be afraid to share your voice, and don’t worry that it will be drowned out. We should always strive to find better answers by continuing to communicate and engage with others.
