What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?

We are committed to renewing the professional agency of the architect in society. Instead of acting as a service industry, our focus is on reviving and promoting a proactive role for architecture within broader discussions about the future of our planet.

Why do you participate in architecture competitions?

It’s important for us to consistently develop optimistic new forms of architecture without expectations or assumptions about the outcome. Competitions provide a space to test new prototypes of spaces and functions that can nudge architecture forward in unexpected directions.

What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture competitions?

Architecture competitions have always been a medium for encouraging imagination within the profession. They can be an influential tool for directing the energy of young architects toward global problems which require many varied solutions and approaches. Every architect has a unique lens with which they view and understand the world and competitions give you independent agency to exercise your voice and interests.
