The Tili Wine Italy Guest Homes is located at the base of the Umbrian Mountain Chain and Valley, enhancing the experience of wine tourism. The design focuses on creating a connection between indoor spaces and the natural landscape. By blending architecture with the surrounding environment, the aim is to invite visitors to engage with the beauty of the area and immerse themselves in it. This approach encourages a relationship with both the site and the experience of wine.

Spatial Organization

The layout features circular volumes arranged in a non-linear pattern. This design allows the building to flow with the landscape while minimizing environmental impact. The form unfolds parallel to the terrain, fostering a connection to the surrounding area. This thoughtful arrangement enhances the visitor experience, inviting a closer engagement with the undulating landscape typical of Umbria.

Integration with Landscape

Outward-facing eaves are an important aspect of the design. They frame views and help to bring natural light into the interior spaces. This creates an open and welcoming atmosphere. The atrium acts as a central hub where guests can gather to taste wines and socialize. This space encourages shared experiences, enhancing the community feel of the guest house.

Material Selection

Material choices are significant in achieving both performance and aesthetic appeal. The project includes a zinc roof, waterproofing membranes, insulation, chipboard wood, construction wood, stone slabs, and precast concrete. These materials are selected for their durability and suitability for the regional climate. They also connect the architecture to the landscape, reflecting the local culture and traditions associated with winemaking.

Design Sensibility

The architecture promotes layers of sensory experiences, similar to the nuances of wine tasting. Each space encourages exploration and interaction, allowing visitors to appreciate the natural surroundings. Features such as large windows and thoughtfully framed vistas draw attention outside to the lush vineyards and rolling hills. This relationship with the environment enhances the guest experience and celebrates the unique characteristics of the Umbrian setting.
