Wooden Circles Embracing Nature in an Outdoor Yoga Space

Project in-detail

Centrally positioned wooden circles facilitate an intimate yoga experience, blending open-air practice with the natural elements of wind, rain, and light, while promoting community interaction in a serene setting.
5 key facts about this project
01
Constructed with minimal wooden structure, emphasizing environmental sensitivity.
02
Features unique circular layouts tailored for various skill levels in yoga practice.
03
Open-air design encourages direct interaction with natural elements like wind and sunlight.
04
Incorporates a roof balcony for elevated observation of yoga sessions.
05
Includes a café space to foster community engagement among practitioners.

The yoga house is set in a location that encourages practitioners to connect deeply with the surrounding environment. The design concept of "Return to the Origin" aims to integrate the practice of yoga with natural elements such as air, sound, and light. This thoughtful approach fosters an atmosphere where users can engage fully with both yoga and nature, leading to a more meaningful experience.

Defined Spaces

The layout features specific areas suited for different skill levels. There is a medium circle designated for beginners, a smaller circle for experts, and a larger circle that allows pairs to practice together. This arrangement not only supports individual growth but also encourages interaction among participants, creating a welcoming sense of community.

Interaction with Nature

A significant aspect of the design is its focus on interaction with nature. Practitioners will be exposed to elements like wind, rain, and sunlight, which enhances their connection to the practice. This engagement with the environment allows for a dynamic experience where the impact of natural surroundings is felt firsthand, enriching each yoga session in a unique way.

Functional Design

Functionality plays a critical role in the overall layout of the yoga house. Key facilities, including an entrance, a waiting area, reception, a kitchen, and shower rooms, are designed to ensure accessibility and convenience. The choice of a minimal wooden structure aligns with environmental considerations while providing an inviting aesthetic. This simplicity allows the space to serve its purpose effectively.

Community Engagement

In addition to the yoga facilities, a café space encourages social interaction among practitioners, particularly beginners looking to engage with others. The roof balcony offers a higher vantage point for observing practice sessions, allowing users to feel connected to a larger community.

Each aspect of the design works together to create a cohesive environment that resonates with the surrounding landscape. The yoga house emphasizes the balance between the built form and its natural setting, offering a meaningful space for practice and reflection.
