The design along the Eurovelo 6 route presents a practical space for cyclists, offering amenities that cater specifically to their needs. Located in a landscape enriched by natural features, the building combines form and function effectively. The overall concept focuses on modularity, allowing for flexible arrangements that can be adapted over time. The facility aims to enhance the traveling experience by providing necessary services without disrupting the environment.

Modular Design

The design includes nine modular units, arranged thoughtfully to maximize usability. A primary group of five units encompasses a total area of 25 square meters. These units feature sanitary facilities, charging points for electronic devices, and spaces for bicycle maintenance. Moving beyond just basic needs, the design aims to create a comfortable stop, ensuring travelers can rest and refresh. Three additional units, covering 15 square meters, provide similar services. A final unit dedicated to essential sanitary facilities completes the configuration.

Sustainable Features

Sustainability forms a core principle in the design. Solar panels are placed efficiently to capture renewable energy, contributing to the building’s energy needs. A water tank is integrated to collect rainwater, utilizing an inclined cover designed for this purpose. This method not only conserves resources but also demonstrates a commitment to environmental care. Together, these features represent a responsible approach to building in this setting.

Interior Strategies

Inside, the design focuses on comfort and a connection to the outdoors. An optional folding water fireplace creates a welcoming gathering area. Panoramic windows provide views of the surrounding scenery, allowing occupants to appreciate the landscape as they rest. The incorporation of mosquito-proof elements ensures an enjoyable interior atmosphere throughout the seasons. Additionally, carefully placed openings manage natural light, creating a pleasant environment inside the facility.

Material Considerations

Wood is chosen for the information panel, a decision that emphasizes the intention to merge with the natural surroundings. This material selection aligns with the overall design concept, promoting a feeling of unity between the built space and the environment. It is a simple touch that reinforces the focus on sustainability and ecological responsibility.

A designated area for bicycle maintenance emphasizes the practical aspects of the design, offering cyclists a place to tend to their bikes. This attention to functionality supports the main aim of the facility: to be a supportive stop for those traveling along the Eurovelo 6 route.
