Located in a palm-studded landscape characteristic of the Middle East, this residential project responds to the challenges posed by arid climates while integrating both traditional and modern architectural principles. The design emphasizes natural airflow and thermal comfort, utilizing advanced techniques to ensure a sustainable living environment. Focused on enhancing user experience, the project integrates elements that promote light capture and minimize heat exposure.

## Spatial Strategy

The spatial organization is methodically planned to foster interaction among residents while maintaining privacy. On the first floor, the entrance and dining areas serve as communal hubs, encouraging social engagement. Public spaces, including the kitchen and living room, are designed for versatility, accommodating various activities and gatherings. The layout thoughtfully situates guest and main bedrooms in a manner that balances accessibility with privacy. On the second floor, private areas such as the home office and master bedroom are oriented to optimize natural light and ventilation, contributing to a tranquil atmosphere. The inclusion of a swimming pool connects indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing leisure opportunities.

## Materiality and Sustainability

Material selection is pivotal to achieving both aesthetic appeal and functional performance. Local stone gus, known for its thermal mass, is employed in wall construction to regulate temperature effectively. Concrete columns support the expansive dual skin facade and wind towers while aligning with the modern aesthetic. Additionally, wooden mashrabiya serves dual purposes, allowing natural light into the space while ensuring privacy and shade. The choice of wooden flooring adds warmth to the interior, contrasting the concrete elements. The project showcases a commitment to sustainability by prioritizing natural ventilation, minimizing reliance on mechanical cooling systems, and reducing overall environmental impact, thus promoting a harmonious relationship between the built environment and its natural surroundings.
