5 key facts about this project
01
The water reservoir serves as a central focal point for community gatherings.
02
Wooden decking surrounds the reservoir, enhancing comfort and accessibility.
03
Gable walls of an old house are preserved, linking history with contemporary design.
04
Guest houses are oriented for optimal views of Assisi and Spello.
05
The design incorporates modeled terrain, creating natural forms for relaxation.

Located in the picturesque Umbria Valley, the design presents a refined integration of community space and natural landscape. The layout embraces a courtyard concept to foster interaction among visitors, creating a welcoming environment where social connections can thrive. The design reflects a respect for the area's historical and cultural context while ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Visual Integration
The project features a carefully planned arrangement of various elements that blend harmoniously with the landscape. At the center lies a water reservoir, thoughtfully surrounded by wooden decking, inviting gatherings and participation. Additional features include a small hill and modeled terrain that create natural forms, enhancing the site's charm while providing opportunities for relaxation and contemplation. An amphitheater, complete with a fire ring, serves as a focal point encouraging storytelling and community engagement.

Guest House Orientation
Guest houses are strategically positioned to offer distinct views of significant landmarks. Assisi and Spello, along with the prominent mountains San Rufino, Subasio, and Pietrolungo, create a captivating backdrop. This orientation not only improves the guest experience but also strengthens the connection between the buildings and their geographical setting, allowing visitors to engage with their environment more meaningfully.

Historical Preservation
A notable feature of the design is its thoughtful incorporation of existing structures. Remnants of an old house remain, with gable walls preserved to maintain a sense of continuity and historical relevance. This preservation acts as a link between the past and present, enhancing visitor experiences through contextual storytelling.

The design captures the changing light throughout the day, creating a dynamic atmosphere. Spaces come alive as shadows shift, inviting moments of reflection. A central tower stands as a visual anchor, emphasizing the connection between the built environment and the surrounding landscape. The overall experience is one of tranquility, where nature and community coexist.
