The design for a skyscraper in Dubai rises to a height of 445 meters. It is situated in a city known for its rapid growth and modern architecture. The project aims to make a statement in the urban environment, showcasing a contemporary design approach that emphasizes verticality. The building serves multiple functions, integrating its presence into the bustling city life while also representing modern aspirations.

Symmetrical Elevation Design

The front elevation features a clear and balanced arrangement. A central vertical element anchors the design, which creates a sense of stability and structure. This symmetry aligns with traditional architectural ideas, allowing the building to resonate with viewers from different angles. The orderly form encourages a sense of harmony, marking the structure as a significant addition to the Dubai skyline.

Asymmetry and Dynamic Interaction

In contrast, the left elevation presents asymmetrical features that break the uniformity, introducing visual interest. This intentional choice allows for interactions with the surrounding environment, making the building more engaging. The blend of symmetry and asymmetry fosters a lively dialogue with the urban landscape, allowing it to relate to neighboring structures while still standing out on its own.

Spatial Organization and Functionality

Inside, the skyscraper is designed with user experience in mind. Space is organized to ensure functionality, addressing the needs of those who will occupy it. Key features promote accessibility and connectivity, essential elements in a high-rise building. This thoughtful layout enhances the building’s usability, making it a practical part of daily life in Dubai.

Innovative Aesthetic Integration

Although specific materials are not outlined, the design suggests a use of modern, clean finishes. The simplicity of the forms hints at a focus on clarity and visual appeal. Light interacting with the façade will likely create varying effects throughout the day. This relationship between the structure and its surroundings adds depth to the design, influencing how the building is perceived.

The design culminates in an upward-reaching feature that evokes a sense of aspiration. This element draws attention and invites exploration, enriching the urban experience.

The Next House: USA — A Global Call to Reimagine the American Suburb

`
Competition organisers

Buildner is launching The Next House: USA, a global architecture competition that challenges architects, designers, and thinkers to reimagine the American suburban home for the 21st century. For decades, the suburban house has symbolized comfort and stability, but today it often reflects excess, isolation, and environmental strain. This competition asks: how can the American home evolve to address climate urgency, economic pressures, and shifting social values?

Participants are tasked with designing a prototype home of no more than 1,500 sq ft (≈140 m²) for a household of two adults and one child. The design should be compact yet generous, adaptable, sustainable, affordable, and replicable across diverse U.S. contexts. More than a design exercise, the competition aims to spark a conversation about how homes can support healthier, smarter, and more connected communities.

The total prize fund is $20,000 USD. The final registration deadline is May 20, 2026, and winners will be announced on September 22, 2026. The Next House: USA invites architects, students, and visionaries worldwide to redefine what the American home means today—and what it should mean tomorrow.
