Trellis-Structured Hotel with Wood and White Walls Embracing Vineyard Views

Project in-detail

Surrounded by vineyards, a trellis-structured hotel incorporates wood and white walls to create a harmonious space that invites guests to engage with the natural landscape.
5 key facts about this project
01
Trellis structure supports both plants and the building’s aesthetic.
02
White walls reflect local architectural styles and enhance light.
03
Distinct volumes create clear functional separation within the hotel.
04
Wood components provide a natural look that blends with the landscape.
05
Design allows for future integration of solar technologies.

The project is located next to wide fields of vineyards, creating a connection between the building and its natural surroundings. It serves as a hotel, designed to offer a warm and welcoming environment. The main idea centers around the trellis, a structure that represents support and growth, reflecting the essence of the local wine culture.

Trellis Concept

The trellis is a key element in the design, providing support for climbing plants and serving as a visual connection to the landscape. It enhances the relationship between the hotel and the vineyards, creating a unified experience for guests. A wine cellar surrounded by trellis scaffolding becomes a focal point, linking the architectural intent with the local context.

Spatial Organization

The hotel features a series of separate volumes that each serve different purposes. This organization allows for easy movement and interaction between spaces, maintaining clarity and order. The layout emphasizes the flow between indoor and outdoor areas, encouraging guests to explore the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the natural light.

Materiality and Aesthetics

Wood is the main material used in the construction of the trellis, promoting a natural look that fits well with the environment. The white walls draw inspiration from local architectural styles, providing a consistent visual appeal throughout the hotel. These material choices enhance the building's connection to its setting while serving important functions like allowing natural light into the spaces.

Sustainability and Adaptability

The design of the trellis not only supports plant growth but also offers the potential for future upgrades, such as solar panels. This thoughtful planning aligns with modern architectural practices focused on eco-friendly solutions. By considering adaptability, the design will remain relevant and functional, addressing future needs without losing its connection to the landscape.

Sunlight filters through the trellis, creating playful patterns of light and shadow that enrich the outdoor areas. Guests can enjoy these effects as they relax and take in the scenery throughout the day.
