The project titled "Journey to One Self" is located in the serene landscape of Vale de Moses and is designed to enhance self-discovery through yoga practices. It aims to blend the built environment with nature, providing an immersive experience that fosters mindfulness and personal reflection. The design features a carefully planned series of spaces that guide users through their journey while encouraging a deep connection with the natural surroundings.

Spatial Organization

The layout includes distinct zones, each dedicated to different aspects of yoga practice. Areas for arriving, cleansing, preparing, practicing, and forest bathing facilitate specific activities and support a holistic approach to well-being. This thoughtful organization creates a cohesive environment that allows users to engage with each part of their yoga journey meaningfully.

Pathway System

A timber walkway flows through the landscape, offering an elevated experience above the ground. Below it, a footpath invites visitors to connect more closely with the earth. These pathways encourage exploration and interaction with the site, creating a dynamic flow that respects individual preferences and movements. Each path leads users to moments of pause and reflection.

Sustainable Practices

Sustainability is central to the design, with efforts to preserve and enhance the ecological quality of the area. The project integrates native tree species, promoting local biodiversity and supporting the ecosystem. By focusing on ecological sensitivity, the design not only improves the site’s visual character but also reinforces the connection between personal growth and the health of the environment.

Material Considerations

Timber is a key material, used in walkways and structural elements throughout the design. This choice supports sustainability while providing a connection to the natural world. The warmth and texture of timber enhance the relationship between the built environment and surrounding landscape, aligning with the overall themes of mindfulness and unity.

The ending features a series of reflective spaces that encourage users to pause and engage with their surroundings, deepening the connection to both their inner thoughts and the world around them.
