Timber Retreat Surrounded by Natural Light with Insulated Glass

Project in-detail

Equipped with large insulated glass units and a renewable solar panel, the design prioritizes natural light and energy efficiency in a compact space dedicated to meditation and essential living.
5 key facts about this project
01
Large insulated glass units enhance natural light and connect the interior to the surrounding environment.
02
A solar panel provides renewable energy, supporting sustainability efforts in the design.
03
Compact layout includes a chemical toilet and shower, maximizing functionality in limited space.
04
Radiant floor heating system ensures comfort while maintaining energy efficiency.
05
Dedicated storage areas facilitate organization without sacrificing the tranquil atmosphere.

The L7 Meditation project presents a well-considered design focused on merging practical living spaces with mindfulness practices. Located in a serene area, the structure is designed for meditation and essential everyday activities. The overall concept emphasizes creating a calm environment that promotes relaxation, with sustainability as a core principle.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY INTEGRATION

A solar panel with a maximum capacity of 300W is included in the design, showcasing a focus on reducing energy consumption and environmental impact. Alongside the solar panel, optional LED lights provide necessary illumination. This combination supports a low-energy lifestyle and fits in with contemporary trends toward sustainability.

NATURAL LIGHT AND VIEWS

The use of large 2x3 insulated glass units allows ample natural light to flood the interior. At 2150 mm in width and 2400 mm in height, these glass elements help create an open feel, inviting the outside environment in. The design encourages a connection to nature, which is vital for a space dedicated to meditation. With natural light streaming in, the interior feels bright and welcoming.

FUNCTIONAL AMENITIES

The layout includes several essential amenities to support daily living. Features such as a chemical toilet, a hot and cold water tank connected to a stove, a hand basin, and a shower ensure that all basic needs are met without disrupting the peaceful atmosphere. Additionally, there are designated storage areas for food and other items, making efficient use of the limited space while promoting organization.

MATERIALITY AND STRUCTURE

Timber is included as a material in the project, suggesting an effort to bring a warm and natural feel to the design. This choice of material also contributes to the structural integrity of the building. With careful attention paid to dimensions and material selection, the project balances functionality with a calming aesthetic, enhancing the overall experience of those who use the space.

The L7 Meditation project illustrates a thoughtful combination of essential living features and a peaceful environment, creating a dedicated area for mindfulness practices and everyday functions.
