The Timberland Cube finds its home in a forest setting where it serves as a space for meditation and quiet contemplation. The design focuses on creating an environment that encourages introspection while blending with the natural landscape. Its simple form and functional elements work together to support the user’s experience of self-reflection and connection to nature.

Integration with Nature
The cabin is constructed primarily of local timber, emphasizing its relationship with the surrounding environment. Raised above the forest floor, it allows the beauty of nature to influence the interior experience. This elevation creates a sense of perspective, connecting the occupants with the tranquility of the forest as they engage with their thoughts.

Play of Light and Shadow
Light and shadow play a significant role in the design of the Cube. With oculi carefully placed throughout the structure, sunlight floods in, creating patterns that shift as the day continues. This dynamic interaction helps mark the passage of time and adds depth to the space, reminding occupants of the rhythm of nature outside.

Functional Flexibility
Operable walls within the cabin provide a level of flexibility that adapts to different needs. These walls can be adjusted to create spaces for solitary reflection or group gatherings, depending on the activity. The design allows for privacy while still offering views of the forest, striking a balance between openness and seclusion.

Designed for Connection
At the center of the design is a hearth, symbolizing warmth and togetherness. This focal point invites gatherings and shared moments, reinforcing the cabin’s role as a retreat for mindfulness. The simple layout of timber dowel walls contributes to a calm atmosphere, creating a welcoming space for those seeking quiet and peace amid nature.
