"the fringe" is an architectural design set within a lively festival environment that aims to blend activity with calmness. The layout focuses on creating a functional space that supports a variety of experiences. By organizing pathways and communal areas, the design facilitates easy movement for visitors while offering places for relaxation amid the vibrant surroundings.

Residence Center
The Residence Center serves as the main hub of the project, designed to support both primary and secondary circulation routes. This organization allows visitors to access important amenities, such as areas for catering and social gatherings. By ensuring a clear flow of movement, the design optimizes the experience for attendees during busy festival times.

Dome
Central to the design is the Dome, which features a roof inspired by traditional Latvian folk costumes. This roof not only enhances the visual interest of the structure but also connects the lively atmosphere of the "Dome" stage with the quieter KHOR rest area. As a central point in the layout, the Dome encourages interaction among visitors while remaining harmoniously placed within the landscape.

Proposed Food Court
The proposed food court is designed to be a communal area that promotes social interaction. Positioned strategically within the site’s natural features, it serves as a transitional space that balances the need for engagement with opportunities for retreat. Its open design incorporates a timber corridor and ETFE veiling roof that allows light to filter through, contributing to a welcoming environment.

Materials
The project utilizes specific materials including ETFE Film Roof Wrap, Timber Roof Support, Timber Vertical Support, Timber Wood Deck, and Timber Base Support. These selections support a commitment to sustainable practices while ensuring the strength of the structures. The material choices reflect the overall design intent, strengthening the relationship between built environments and the surrounding nature.

The connection between the timber corridor of the food court and the veiling roof fosters a relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, promoting movement and conversation among participants.
