The Lost is a home designed for photographers who want to use natural light in their daily lives. Located in Dobong-gu, Dobong-dong, the house takes advantage of sunny days and a beautiful mountainous backdrop. The design is centered around the relationship between artificial and natural light, creating a space where light plays a crucial role in artistic expression.

Design Concept and Functionality

The design integrates open corridors and spacious areas to enhance the flow of natural light. This thoughtful arrangement allows for adaptable environments that change throughout the day. Photographers can make the most of different lighting conditions, underscoring the connection between their work and the surrounding nature.

Dedicated Spaces for Creativity

The project features a photo studio and an open hallway, both designed specifically for creative work. These spaces enable residents to interact with nature—such as rain and snow—helping to inspire their artistic journey. The placement of these areas allows for direct observation of the natural elements, enriching the overall experience within the home.

Mindful Living Experience

Another key aspect is the bathroom, designed as a place for quiet reflection. Here, residents can take a moment to think while enjoying views of the rain. This focus on mindfulness adds depth to the living experience, showcasing how natural elements can be woven into everyday life.

Light as a Core Element

While specific materials are not highlighted, the design prioritizes light and the interaction between spaces. The goal is to create an environment where natural light transforms the interiors. By carefully organizing living and working areas, the project emphasizes the connection between light and the landscape, providing a backdrop for photography that is both engaging and inspiring.

The result is a living space that encourages creativity and reflection, where photographers can truly connect with their craft and the beauty of the world around them.
