The Gosto de Ouro Tasting Room is located within a beautiful vineyard, designed to enhance the experience of wine tasting through thoughtful architecture. The concept emphasizes a journey that reflects the stages of winemaking, moving from a tight entryway to an open tasting area. This design invites visitors to engage with the surroundings, encouraging a connection with the vineyard scenery.

Architectural Influence

The design draws inspiration from the soft Portuguese style, featuring stucco walls and a clay tile roof. These materials help the building blend with its surroundings, emphasizing local charm. Traditional windows surround the space, while a Nanawall glazing system allows for flexibility. Visitors can open the windows completely, connecting the inside of the tasting room with the outdoor landscape, making the vineyard an integral part of the tasting experience.

Interior Configuration

Inside, the layout is carefully planned for usability and accessibility. Key areas include a washroom and a back-of-house section for storing dishes, food, and wine. A mobile point of sale system simplifies purchases, adding convenience for visitors. Custom tables can be arranged in different ways, accommodating both large and small groups. This flexibility is intended to foster social interaction among guests.

Material Palette

The choice of materials emphasizes durability while enhancing the overall appearance of the tasting room. Terrazzo flooring is used for its ability to withstand heavy foot traffic, making it a practical choice. Green subway tiles and copper lighting fixtures add warmth and texture to the space. These material selections not only meet practical needs but also contribute to creating an inviting atmosphere that is important for wine tasting.

A notable feature is the high wood-clad ceiling that enhances the feeling of spaciousness. It draws attention upward, allowing natural light to flood the tasting room. This carefully designed element, along with the overall layout, highlights a commitment to creating a welcoming environment that reflects the essence of the winemaking experience.
