The architectural design project "Human & Other-than Human Co-existence" centers on creating a sustainable environment where human activities harmoniously intertwine with the natural world. Located in a setting characterized by volcanic rock and rich landscapes, the design emphasizes ecological mindfulness and a communal living experience. The architecture is shaped to reflect a dialogue between species, illustrating the interdependencies that occur within diverse ecosystems.

This project features multiple designated areas that promote a variety of functions essential to community life. The ground floor includes communal dining spaces and greenhouses, which facilitate social interaction and foster a sense of shared responsibility toward the environment. In contrast, the first floor is tailored for quieter activities, providing spaces for reflection and individual engagement with the surrounding nature. The layout enhances the user experience by directing movement through the space while encouraging interaction with each architectural element.

The project employs several unique design approaches that distinguish it from similar undertakings. One notable feature is the suspended Tamacond Bridge, which serves as an inviting entry point, allowing visitors to experience the environment before they physically enter the building. Outdoor platforms encourage interaction with nature and serve as nodes for gatherings, reinforcing the community-centric design ethos.

Sustainability drives the design, integrating geothermal energy and utilizing materials with minimal environmental impact. The architectural framework comprises galvanized steel trusses and double glazing units, ensuring structural integrity while enhancing thermal efficiency. Raw materials such as finished hardwood flooring and gypsum board were selected to create an authentic atmosphere that connects users to their environment.

The architectural design prioritizes sensory engagement, utilizing expansive windows to maximize natural light while offering unobstructed views of the landscape. Pathways throughout the site promote exploration and reflection, reinforcing the thematic focus on human and non-human co-existence.

The "Human & Other-than Human Co-existence" project exemplifies a practical approach to architecture that reflects an understanding of ecological systems and social interaction. Those interested in gaining deeper insights into the architectural plans, sections, and overall design ideas are encouraged to explore the comprehensive project presentation for detailed information.
