The design surrounding the Conca dell'Incoronata aims to improve urban life by highlighting the unique features of the site. Located close to a new canal, the area serves as a lively community center, inviting families and individuals to connect with the space and each other. The design concept emphasizes creating lasting experiences through greenery, pathways for biking, and versatile areas that promote a sense of belonging and public interaction.

Vitality and Inclusiveness

Vitality is a key aspect of the project, focusing on inclusiveness and warmth across its spaces. Designed with a range of users in mind, the environment encourages social activities and family engagement. The layout facilitates movement within the area, making it easy for visitors to navigate and discover various features, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

Sensory Experience

Sensory experiences play an essential role in the design. Different levels of height at the Conca dell'Incoronata create unique moments for users, with areas designated for relaxation, such as tree rooms surrounded by nature. Pathways and guides help people find their way, enhancing exploration and engagement with the site.

Emotional Branding

Emotional branding is woven into the design by giving specific words to different areas, helping to build a unique identity for each location. Elements inspired by local history, such as patterns reminiscent of a WWII wall, introduce repeated features that bring unity to the park landscape. This thoughtful design approach strengthens the sense of place and connection to the community.

Material and Soundscape

Steel is used in the structural components, providing flexibility in design while enhancing both functionality and appearance. Alongside material choices, the project considers circulation through a soundscape that includes sounds of everyday life—like conversations and laughter, as well as the gentle rustle of leaves. This focus on auditory experience adds to the lively nature of the environment, inviting people to engage with the urban setting.

The Conca dell'Incoronata reflects an integration of emotional connection and practical design, where spaces foster relaxation alongside vibrant social interactions.
