The design is set in the unique landscapes of Iceland, showcasing the country’s distinct geological features and cultural practices. It serves multiple functions, acting as a community hub while providing a space for informal gatherings. The concept focuses on blending the structure with Iceland’s varying environments, featuring a horizontal base that supports a dynamic mass marked by sloped edges. This design symbolizes the interaction of ice and fire, two defining elements of the Icelandic landscape.

Design Concept
The layout includes a dual-functional arrangement, with a larger formal space for primary activities adjacent to a smaller informal area representing Iceland's sustainable culture. This thoughtful separation allows for flexibility in usage, promoting a community-oriented atmosphere. The sloped roofs and open areas create an inviting feeling, making interaction easy for all visitors.

Energy Efficiency and Materials
The structure uses a prefabricated design, which simplifies construction in remote locations. This choice highlights a commitment to sustainability while ensuring the building requires minimal upkeep. The modular elements help streamline assembly, contributing to the overall resilience against Iceland's harsh weather conditions.

Spatial Organization
On the ground floor, essential spaces include a lobby, waiting area, movie theatre, and store. The arrangement encourages social interactions and fosters a sense of community. Within the lobby, a central tree replica acts as a focal point, symbolizing inclusivity and encouraging informal gatherings among visitors.

Seasonal and Climatic Considerations
The design takes into account the seasonal changes in the environment, offering different visual experiences throughout the year. The selected vegetation, which includes species like Aspen, Rowan, Polar Tree, Pine, and Birch, supports ecological restoration and enhances the natural landscape. This thoughtful planning ensures the structure remains resilient against the elements while also allowing for spectacular views, including those of the Northern Lights, enriching the visitor experience.
