Located in a peaceful setting, it features a meditation room as the core function of the building. The overall design concept emphasizes simplicity and balance, creating an environment that supports both contemplation and everyday activities.

Design Concept

The layout positions the meditation room as the focal point of the structure, making it the largest mass. This intentional choice establishes a clear hierarchy, allowing the surrounding smaller volumes to serve various functions. Spaces for sleeping, cooking, and hygiene are arranged around the central meditation area, promoting a connection between daily tasks and meditative practices.

Spatial Dynamics

Simplicity is crucial to the project’s visual appeal. The façade avoids complex decorations, resulting in a clean and distraction-free environment. Inspiration is drawn from natural forms, particularly the shape of an egg, which aids in creating a balanced atmosphere throughout the space. Proportions and mass are thoughtfully considered, contributing to the tranquil experience it offers inhabitants.

Functional Elements

Specific features enhance the experience of meditation. A wood burning stove is included in the meditation room, providing warmth as well as a central gathering point for occupants. The Egloo candle heater is another innovative addition, using terracotta to store and radiate heat efficiently. This approach minimizes energy consumption while ensuring comfort in the central area.

Sustainability Considerations

Harmony also incorporates a composting toilet system. This sustainable feature processes waste biologically, converting it into compost and advocating for environmental responsibility. Material selection reflects this focus as well. Pine wood is used for cladding, offering durability and an inviting visual effect.
