The design is located in Assisi, Italy, a town rich in history and cultural significance. The hotel functions as both an accommodation and a way to connect guests with the surrounding landscape. The overall design concept draws from the site's unique topography and features six important perspectives: Monte Subasio, Tili Vini, Monte Martano, Poggio delle Civitelle, and Assisi. The intent is to create a peaceful environment that integrates architecture with nature.

Concept and Perspective

The design incorporates classic architectural elements, including towers and squares, to relate closely to the surrounding landscape. Each perspective informs the shape and layout of the hotel, creating a cohesive connection between the built form and its environment. This approach acknowledges the town's historical context while also embracing contemporary design principles.

Plaza Design

A central plaza is created to serve as a gathering place for visitors and locals. The plaza captures the natural contours of the land, established by five key axes that run through the site. Serving as a focal point, it enhances social interaction and encourages community engagement, making it a vital part of the hotel's footprint.

Hotel Section and Orientation

The hotel is thoughtfully positioned to offer guests tranquil views of the scenic surroundings. Room layouts align with the identified perspectives, ensuring that each space allows occupants to experience the beauty of the landscape. This arrangement fosters a meaningful relationship between the interior and the exterior, enhancing guests’ connection to their environment.

Lighting and Spatial Composition

Natural light is an essential aspect of the design, crafted to improve the sense of space and atmosphere within the hotel. Careful consideration is given to how light enters the building, shaping the way architectural details are perceived. This integration of light and space promotes a calming atmosphere, aligned with the intention of creating a restful retreat that marries architecture and landscape in Assisi.
