The sleeping pods at the Vale de Moses Yoga Retreat are designed to create a close connection with the surrounding landscape. Located in a peaceful area, these structures serve as accommodations for individuals looking for rest and renewal. The overall design concept highlights a blend between the natural environment and living space, with a focus on comfort and simplicity. The rounded shapes of the pods help them integrate with the scenery, promoting a sense of harmony.

Design Concept

The vision behind the sleeping pods focuses on providing an immersive experience in nature. The organic forms of the structures offer expansive views, making it easy for occupants to feel engaged with their surroundings. Inside, a round bed serves as the central feature, while the layout is organized to include all necessary areas for sleeping, relaxing, and maintaining privacy. This efficient arrangement allows for a cozy environment that encourages peace.

Adaptable Living Spaces

The sleeping pods are designed to be flexible. Their roofs can shift into three different positions: fully open for wide views, semi-closed for privacy, and completely closed to protect against sunlight. This adaptability helps ensure comfort for occupants, allowing them to personalize their experience based on personal preference and weather conditions.

Natural Ventilation and Materials

The design also includes a natural ventilation system. This system helps bring fresh air inside through openings placed thoughtfully around the structure. Such airflow is key to maintaining a comfortable atmosphere within the pods. Roofs made from polywood panels are used to provide durability and weather resistance, contributing to both the function and appearance of the pods.

Structural Integration

Elevating the pods off the ground gives them an airy appearance and allows for essential facilities like water and sewage systems to be included without disrupting their visual appeal. This approach minimizes environmental impact while ensuring that the living spaces remain practical. The added filtration systems help reduce harmful particles entering the soil, showcasing a commitment to environmental care.

Large windows frame the views, bringing the beauty of the outdoor landscape into each pod. Occupants can appreciate the serenity of the area, creating a calming atmosphere that complements the purpose of the retreat. The design promotes an experience where nature and comfort coexist, emphasizing a lifestyle focused on awareness and relaxation.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025: Celebrating Architectural Creativity and Visionary Unbuilt Designs with a Total Prize Fund of €100,000

`
Competition organisers

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 is an international architecture competition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the value of unrealized architectural designs. It invites architects, designers, and students worldwide to submit visionary projects that have not yet been constructed, highlighting the power of ideas and the creativity behind the design process. By focusing on unbuilt work, the competition aims to bring forward concepts that shape the future of architecture and push the boundaries of the profession.

Participants can compete in three categories based on project scale: Small Wonders (up to 100 m²), Medium Marvels (101–999 m²), and Large Visions (over 1,000 m²). Each category winner will receive €20,000, and additional prizes include honorable mentions, student awards, and a special Best Presentation Award. Winning projects will gain significant international exposure through Buildner’s publicity campaign and a feature article on ArchDaily, providing a unique opportunity to showcase creative ideas to a global audience.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 encourages entrants to submit any type of unbuilt project, from conceptual visions to detailed designs, celebrating bold innovation without the constraints of realization. Important deadlines: registration closes on October 30, 2025; submissions are due by November 20, 2025; winners will be announced on December 17, 2025.
