A proposal aims to revitalize the boulevards of Paris, transforming these historically important urban spaces into lively, pedestrian-friendly areas. Located in a well-known part of the city, the project focuses on addressing modern urban challenges. It seeks to enhance accessibility and encourage community engagement by integrating affordable housing and public amenities into the existing environment. The design connects deeply with the city’s essence while responding to the needs of its residents.

Affordable Housing Integration

Affordable housing is a central feature, located along major boulevards. This addition revitalizes the streets and creates a more active atmosphere. By positioning residences in the heart of the city, the project draws both local and visiting populations into these areas. Public squares and cafes are part of the layout, providing essential spaces for social interactions that strengthen community bonds.

Sustainable Transportation Solutions

In addition to housing, the design promotes sustainable transportation options. New tram and cycling paths are included to support the existing public transport network. By focusing on pedestrian pathways and reducing reliance on cars, the project creates a healthier urban setting. These transportation methods also improve accessibility, making it easier for people to move around the city.

Dynamic Living Spaces

Each housing unit is carefully designed to be flexible, catering to different lifestyles. These self-contained spaces accommodate varied living arrangements, including multigenerational families and short-term rentals. This adaptability answers present needs for housing by offering residents options that can change as their situations evolve. Light-filled interiors provide a welcoming atmosphere and connect residents with the vibrant streets outside.

Green Infrastructure

Landscaping plays a vital role in this plan. Portions of the boulevards will be converted into green pathways and community gardens to enhance the ecological quality of the area. Rooftop gardens and parks will offer open spaces for residents to enjoy nature and relax outdoors. These green features not only improve the visual appeal of the boulevards but also contribute positively to the urban environment.

The design incorporates Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) for construction, promoting efficient building methods while minimizing disturbances in the busy boulevards. This choice reflects a modern approach to construction and respects the historical context of the site, allowing new buildings to blend with the existing urban landscape effectively.
