Revolving Table Surrounded by Concrete and Warm Wood in a Vineyard Setting

Project in-detail

A revolving tasting table set within a warm wood and concrete enclosure maximizes the connection between guests and the surrounding vineyards, creating a unique space for wine tasting.
5 key facts about this project
01
Revolving tasting table allows for dynamic user engagement.
02
Concrete walls enhance durability while contrasting with warm wood.
03
Access is provided through a descending stairway, creating a unique entry experience.
04
The design integrates panoramic vineyard views, enhancing the tasting experience.
05
Functional elements like built-in racks are seamlessly incorporated into the design.

The Monte D’oiro Wine Tasting Room is situated in a landscape of vineyards, designed with the concept of "Round" in mind. The central table is not just an element of function but also the heart of the space, guiding how people interact and enjoy the wine tasting experience. By connecting the interior with the natural scenery, the design enhances the overall enjoyment of the surroundings.

Spatial Organization

Access to the wine tasting room is provided through a descending stairway. This transition moves visitors from the outside world into an underground environment reminiscent of wine cellars. As they descend, the sense of intimacy grows, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The round tasting table, which is on a revolving platform, encourages conversations among guests while offering expansive views of the lush vineyards.

Materiality

Concrete is the main structural material, offering strength and stability. This strength contrasts with warm wooden elements that invite comfort within the space. Together, these materials create an inviting and friendly environment. Practical details, including the undermount white ceramic washbasin and built-in bottle racks, are integrated into the design, enhancing the functionality without disrupting the overall aesthetic.

Light and Ambiance

Natural light significantly influences the atmosphere inside the wine tasting room. Ample daylight complements the materials used, crafting a warm and inviting setting. Recessed floor-mounted spotlights also serve to illuminate the space effectively, making it suitable for various gatherings throughout the year, whether in summer or winter. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth to the interior, engaging visitors as they savor the experience.

The round tasting table, positioned on the revolving platform, allows guests to enjoy not only the wines but also the sweeping views of the vineyards. This feature embodies the spirit of sharing and celebration that characterizes the wine tasting experience.
