5 key facts about this project
The Leaf proposal for Tili Winery is located in the Italian countryside and focuses on creating modern accommodations alongside a wine tasting area. The design emphasizes a deep connection with nature, inviting guests to enjoy their surroundings while providing functional and comfortable living spaces. The concept centers on blending indoor and outdoor experiences for a more engaging stay.
Main Building Layout
The main building includes a variety of important spaces. These are a waste room, bastu, bathroom, terrace, lobby, dressing room, kitchen, office, staff areas, toilet, tech storage, and a dedicated wine tasting and dinner area. With a total area of 172 m², the layout encourages movement and interaction among different spaces, facilitating both privacy and social engagement.
Housing Design
The apartments are designed to take advantage of scenic views of the landscape. Large arched sliding doors and windows allow ample natural light to flow into the units while connecting the indoors to the outside. By focusing on sightlines and natural elements, the design creates comfortable retreats for couples and groups. These units can be adapted to provide flexible living arrangements tailored to guest needs.
Landscaping and Natural Integration
Landscaping is carefully considered in the design, ensuring existing plants and trees are preserved around the edges of the site. Private gardens and courtyard areas are thoughtfully placed to offer individual outdoor experiences. This integration of nature demonstrates a commitment to environmental care and enhances the overall ambiance of the accommodations.
Materiality
Bricks from a demolished building are used in the project. These serve both in the garden and in the new construction. Choosing to incorporate these materials maintains a visual connection to the site's history while supporting sustainability. This decision reflects the careful consideration given to creating modern living spaces that respect their historical context.
The design features an extensive covered terrace that extends the living areas outward. This functional element fosters outdoor engagement while providing shelter from different weather conditions. The careful blending of interior and exterior spaces encourages guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding countryside, enhancing their overall experience.
