Reinforced Concrete Facades and Extensive Glazing in a Vineyard Tasting Room

Project in-detail

Set within the scenic vineyards of Portugal, reinforced concrete facades and expansive glazing create a strong connection to the landscape in a dedicated space for wine tasting and exhibition.
5 key facts about this project
01
Extensive glazing maximizes natural light and connects interior spaces with vineyard views.
02
Reinforced concrete facades provide durability while reflecting modern design aesthetics.
03
A multifunctional wooden exhibition area meets storage needs without sacrificing elegance.
04
Glass railings on the terrace ensure unobstructed sightlines to the surrounding landscape.
05
The building's layout promotes both social interaction and personal exploration for visitors.

The wine tasting room is situated in the Lisbon Wine Region of Portugal and is designed to connect with its beautiful vineyard surroundings. It functions as a place where visitors can appreciate local wine culture while enjoying views of the rolling hills and grapevines. The design emphasizes a relationship with nature, blending modern architectural features with the traditional aspects of the vineyard.

Spatial Organization

The interior layout is carefully arranged to create separate areas for wine tasting and exhibition. This organization allows for both social interactions and moments of personal reflection. A central wooden display serves as a focal point, showcasing a selection of wines while also providing storage for necessary items such as glasses. This arrangement enhances the visitor experience by encouraging engagement with the wines and the surrounding environment.

Light and Transparency

Large windows and glass walls are important elements of the design. They invite natural light into the space and allow for views that connect the interior with the outdoor landscape. As the sunlight changes throughout the day, it creates different moods within the room. The thoughtful placement of glass offers an inviting atmosphere that enhances the sense of being in a vineyard.

Materiality

The building's facades are made of reinforced concrete, which is finished with a light architectural concrete treatment. This choice provides strength while creating a modern look. The roof is constructed with a light steel framework composed of C-profiles and U-profiles, coated in powder paint that matches the exterior color. These materials not only support the structure but also contribute to a unified design that reflects the local context.

The terrace surrounding the tasting room features glass railings, allowing for uninterrupted views of the vineyards. This design decision encourages visitors to fully engage with the landscape. The connection between the building and the surrounding environment reinforces the experience of enjoying wine in a setting that highlights its origins.
