The White Flamingo observation deck is located in the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve in Abu Dhabi. It serves as a space for visitors to connect with the natural surroundings, particularly the flamingos that thrive in this habitat. Rising to a height of 12 meters, the deck has a square design that makes it a notable feature in the landscape. The concept focuses on blending with nature, highlighting elegance through its bright white facade.

Facade Design

The facade is framed with light wood, combining strength with an appealing look. The choice of white highlights the lightness of the space, making the deck feel open and inviting. Vertical divisions in the facade allow for sunlight to shine through while maintaining a connection with the outdoors. This design choice encourages natural airflow, enhancing comfort for visitors.

Interior Configuration

Inside, there are no traditional levels. Instead, the design includes flights of stairs that lead to "half-levels," allowing visitors to gradually rise and take in 360-degree views of the wetlands. This layout creates a journey, encouraging exploration and interaction with the environment. It fosters a welcoming atmosphere suited for both quiet reflection and observation of wildlife.

Textural Elements

The facades feature a mix of textures that create visual interest. Wooden shutters provide depth by casting dynamic patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. This shifting play of light enhances the overall experience, inviting visitors to appreciate the subtle changes of the environment around them.

Access and Amenities

Wooden pathways lead visitors to the observation deck, creating a smooth transition from the natural landscape. An upper tilted mirror offers shaded spots with benches for rest. This design helps provide comfort, allowing visitors to enjoy the views without distractions.

The core of the observation deck includes a shaft with two mirrors positioned at the top and bottom. These mirrors reflect the beautiful surroundings, allowing all visitors to experience the stunning vistas. This thoughtful design ensures that everyone can engage with the wetland's remarkable scenery, deepening the connection to this unique environment.
