SUSTAINABLE DESIGN STRATEGIES

The approach emphasizes sustainability, using passive design principles to reduce energy needs. Key features include thermal insulation and double-glazed windows that enhance energy efficiency. A mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery helps maintain comfortable indoor conditions throughout the year. A photovoltaic array on the roof generates energy, allowing the building to operate independently. SPATIAL ORGANIZATION

The layout consists of two primary pavilions, each serving distinct functions for yoga practice and social gatherings. The larger pavilion houses an expansive yoga studio designed to create a feeling of openness and calm. MATERIALITY AND INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT

Reclaimed bricks and local chestnut timber link the building to the region’s architectural heritage, while a pre-fabricated LVL roof system enhances stability. Interior spaces emphasize intimacy and connection to nature. Private toilet rooms are positioned strategically to offer views of the surrounding landscape, promoting a sense of tranquility during personal care.

The yoga studio features an open coffered ceiling that welcomes natural light, creating an inviting place for practice and reflection.
