A Communal Retreat for Olive Oil Tasting Made of Rammed Earth and Terracotta

Project in-detail

The project proposes an olive oil tasting venue that blends tradition with sustainability. The design weaves communal and private spaces to create a sensory-rich environment that invites engagement with the landscape and olive oil culture.
5 key facts about this project
01
Rammed earth construction provides natural thermal regulation and humidity control.
02
The use of locally sourced terra cotta enhances regional authenticity and durability.
03
A multipurpose layout supports diverse functions, from tasting events to workshops.
04
Landscaping features edible gardens that promote sustainability and local biodiversity.
05
Extensive glazing offers panoramic views while minimizing energy consumption through passive design.

Verde Panorama is designed to serve as an olive oil tasting venue, integrating communal and private spaces within a picturesque valley. This structure emphasizes local agricultural traditions while promoting sustainable practices. The design reflects a strong contextual awareness, fostering a connection with the surrounding landscape.

Fluid Integration of Spaces

A key distinguishing feature of Verde Panorama is its integration of indoor and outdoor areas. The olive oil tasting room centers on the communal experience, equipped with a fireplace and designed for social interaction. Adjacent multipurpose spaces accommodate various activities, ensuring flexibility in use. The materials selected -rammed earth, clay bricks, terra cotta tiles, oak wood, and glass - align with sustainable building practices and local craftsmanship. These materials facilitate efficient thermal performance and create a tactile connection with the environment.

The landscaping complements the architectural design by incorporating gardens that support local biodiversity. The herb and vegetable gardens encourage sustainable practices, while the prayer room offers a tranquil space for reflection, enhancing the visitor experience. The use of local materials minimizes environmental impact associated with transportation, reinforcing the building's integration within the surrounding context.
