"LUCIÉRNAGA" is located in the Vale de Moses and is designed to blend into the mountainous landscape while providing a peaceful space for rest. The concept is inspired by bioluminescent insects, resulting in small pods that emit gentle light. This design aims to create a connection between the built environment and nature, enhancing comfort and self-sufficiency for users.

Design Concept

The layout consists of two main areas: a rest area and a cleanness area. The rest area focuses on a central bed, creating a calming space for relaxation. In contrast, the cleanness area is divided to maintain privacy, allowing for necessary functions without compromising comfort. This thoughtful arrangement encourages interaction with the natural surroundings.

Materiality

The design features a rock basement, with wood used for the floor, divisions, and roof, alongside rammed earth for the walls. These materials not only support sustainability but also connect the structure to its environment. Using locally sourced materials helps reduce the ecological footprint and enhances the building's longevity.

Sustainability Features

"LUCIÉRNAGA" incorporates systems for self-sufficiency, such as photovoltaic panels and atmospheric water capture. These elements promote environmental responsibility by reducing dependence on external resources. The positioning of the pods follows the natural contours of the land, which aids in proper drainage and protects the integrity of the landscape.

Design Detail

Large openings in each pod offer sweeping views of the surroundings, bringing ample natural light into the spaces. This design choice invites the outdoors in, enriching the experience of both the architecture and the landscape. The fluid transition between inside and outside enhances the sense of tranquility for occupants.
