Tili Homes is situated in the countryside of Umbria, where it enhances an existing large stone building, turning it into a shared space for guests. The design features five guesthouses arranged in a circular layout around the main building. This configuration allows each guesthouse to enjoy open views of the surrounding landscape, cultivating a sense of community while providing personal spaces.

Design Layout

The outdoor area is designed in a spiral shape that connects the guesthouses, creating a natural gathering space at the center. This layout encourages interactions among guests, promoting a social atmosphere. At the same time, the radial arrangement allows for easy access to both private and communal areas, catering to the varying needs of visitors.

Structural Composition

The project retains the lower part of the original stone building while adding a lighter wooden structure that includes the first floor and roof. This combination of materials respects the historical roots while introducing a modern aspect to the overall design. The ground floor serves as a flexible space with a kitchen and a bar, specifically set up for wine tasting events organized by Tili Vini.

Spatial Experience

The upper level presents an open area that invites natural light, offering panoramic views of the beautiful landscape. Accessed via a grand staircase, this space strengthens the connection with the outdoors. The thoughtful positioning of windows enhances the flow of light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Architectural Details

The design of the guesthouses mirrors the traditional stone walls seen in Umbrian rural architecture, featuring a central wall that divides living and sleeping areas. This wall not only organizes the layout but also reinforces ties to the region’s architectural history. The use of wooden frameworks enriches the interior spaces and integrates terraces and entrances, providing an experienced that resonates with the natural surroundings, allowing guests to feel at one with the environment.
