Pyramid-Shaped Retreat Uniting Sacred Geometry and Nature

Project in-detail

With a pyramid shape that channels energy through sacred geometry, the design creates a serene environment for meditation and healing, aligning harmoniously with nature.
5 key facts about this project
01
The cabin is aligned to true north to optimize energy flow.
02
The design incorporates principles of sacred geometry for structural integrity.
03
The pyramid shape reflects the geometry of a carbon atom.
04
Outdoor meditation pathways enhance connection to the natural environment.
05
Walking meditations are facilitated by accessible design elements.

The Sacred Pyramid project embodies the principles of sacred geometry and the Golden Ratio, creating a healing space intended for meditation. Located harmoniously within its surroundings, the cabin serves as a place of peace for individuals seeking a retreat from daily life. The design concept is rooted in a profound understanding of how architecture interacts with nature, resulting in a space that emphasizes balance and connection.

Sacred Geometry

At the heart of the design is the concept of sacred geometry, which uses specific mathematical and geometric proportions to shape the structure. This approach allows the cabin to resonate with various elements found in nature, strengthening the relationship between the built environment and the natural world. The geometric patterns featured throughout the cabin serve both an aesthetic purpose and provide a foundational template that supports a cohesive spatial experience.

Golden Ratio

The Golden Ratio significantly influences the arrangement and proportions within the cabin. This ratio is prevalent in nature, seen in everything from leaf arrangements to the spiral shape of shells. Integrating these principles into the design fosters a sense of balance and visual harmony, which is essential for meditation and healing practices. Users are invited to immerse themselves fully in a space that feels both comfortable and naturally aligned.

Pyramid Form

The cabin's pyramid shape reflects the geometry of the carbon atom, a vital building block of life. This tetrahedral form is effective at channeling energy, connecting the spiritual and physical realms. Utilizing an angle of 51.83 degrees, similar to that of the Great Pyramid, the design produces sacred proportions that resonate with human dimensions. The alignment to true north enhances the structure’s ability to harness energy, reinforcing its function as a healing space.

Outdoor Integration

Alongside the interior environment, the design incorporates outdoor meditation areas and pathways for walking meditation, fostering a stronger connection to the landscape. These features encourage visitors to engage actively with their surroundings, allowing for a smoother transition between indoor and outdoor experiences. Every element of the design is focused on enhancing the meditative journey, helping users reflect and recharge in their natural setting.

The thoughtful design articulates a clear relationship between geometry, spirituality, and nature. Each aspect contributes to an environment filled with distinct energy, enriched by carefully considered proportions and alignment with the Earth's natural forces.

MICROHOME 10: Celebrating Small-Scale Living with €100,000 Prize Fund and Kingspan’s Innovation

`
Competition organisers

The MICROHOME 10 competition invites participants to submit visionary designs for off-grid, modular microhomes that push the limits of sustainable, small-scale living. Organised by Buildner in partnership with Kingspan and Hapi Homes, this tenth edition sets the challenge of designing a dwelling for two people within a maximum floor area of 25 m², encouraging bold solutions adaptable to any urban or rural location. The competition continues Buildner’s mission to foster innovative approaches to compact, energy-efficient housing that can address pressing global challenges.

This year’s edition offers a generous total prize fund of €100,000, including the Kingspan Award for designs that integrate high-performance Kingspan products and the Hapi Homes Award for a project selected for real-world construction. In addition to cash prizes, the winners gain international exposure through Buildner’s media partnerships, publications, and a dedicated MICROHOME magazine, further amplifying their ideas to the wider architectural community.

Key dates for MICROHOME 10 include the closing date for registration on 25 September 2025, the submission deadline on 29 October 2025 (11:59 p.m. London time), and the announcement of winners on 9 December 2025. These milestones ensure participants have clear timelines to develop and present their concepts, with early registration discounts available to support students and emerging designers worldwide.
