The Kremm Coffee and Gelato kiosk is designed to serve coffee lovers in Northern Europe. This small structure places a strong emphasis on functionality and user-friendly design. It combines effective use of space with an inviting atmosphere, creating a comfortable place for patrons to enjoy their beverages. The overall approach is to adapt to the specific climate and needs of the surroundings while providing a convenient service.

Spatial Organization

The kiosk is organized into four clear zones: counter, consumable and non-consumable storage, preparation, and cleaning. Each area has a specific purpose that allows for smooth operations. This layout helps the barista work efficiently, making it easier to serve customers quickly. The triangular arrangement of the kitchen enhances comfort and flow, minimizing unnecessary movement.

Material Application

The exterior features porcelain enamel panels, chosen for their durability and resistance to weather and vandalism. This choice ensures the kiosk remains functional and visually appealing despite the elements. A matte blackboard surface is also included, inviting customers to participate in the environment by expressing their creativity while they wait for their orders.

Light and Interaction

Large windows play a key role in the design, letting in natural light and connecting the inside with the outside. This openness helps create a welcoming atmosphere, important for social interactions. The windows allow views of the surroundings and lessen the sense of confinement often felt in small buildings. It encourages people to engage and socialize as they enjoy their drinks.

Unique Features

One distinctive element of the kiosk is the sliding desk/bar positioned in the corners. This serves as a gathering spot for customers, promoting interaction and making the space feel more alive. The mix of light-colored wood used in the counters and window frames against the dark porcelain enamel creates a simple yet elegant visual appeal. This combination adds to the overall charm of the design while fitting seamlessly into the urban context.
