Vale de Moses Yoga House, known as "Flow," is located in a peaceful natural setting designed to enhance the experience of yoga practitioners. The overall design concept emphasizes a flow that guides visitors from their arrival through contemplative spaces to their yoga practice. It aims to create an environment that fosters reflection and connection with nature.

Architectural Concept

The design prioritizes creating calm spaces that support mental clarity and encourage a connection with the environment. Visitors begin their journey on a winding path that leads to a semi-outdoor porch. This area invites them to pause and enjoy the views before they continue on to a zen garden, which serves as a communal space for relaxation and social interaction. This engaging layout promotes a sense of ease and tranquility as practitioners make their way to their yoga sessions.

Spatial Organization

Within the yoga house, spaces are organized to balance privacy and community. The yoga room features large glass curtains, providing expansive views of the surrounding landscape. This design choice brings the outside in, helping to enhance the meditative atmosphere. The zen garden acts as a central element, allowing visitors to connect with nature and one another before stepping into the yoga space, which reinforces the overall theme of connection throughout the experience.

Materiality

The project utilizes a wooden roof, which serves multiple purposes. The outer layer is made of spaced wood planks, creating skylights that allow natural light to enter both the garden and yoga areas. This choice of materials demonstrates a commitment to using natural elements while ensuring a pleasant ambiance for mindfulness activities. The textures and warmth of wood contribute to a sense of comfort within the space.

Sustainability Features

Sustainability is a defining feature of Vale de Moses Yoga House, highlighted by a water collection system that captures rainwater from the slope. This system allows for efficient irrigation of the garden and reduces reliance on external water sources. Such features emphasize an awareness of environmental responsibility in the design, aligning the building's function with ecological principles.

The careful arrangement of spaces culminates in the yoga area, where practitioners can enjoy stunning sunset views through large windows. This design detail enhances the experience of calm and reflection, inviting guests to fully engage with the natural landscape around them.
