A Wine Glass for Monte D'Oiro captures the relationship between wine tasting and the landscape of Monte D'Oiro. The design seeks to create a space that connects visitors with nature, allowing them to appreciate how the environment influences the flavors of the wine. It serves as a gathering point, enriching the wine tasting experience while engaging with the beauty of its surroundings.

Central Element

A long table stands at the heart of the design, placed to encourage communal interaction. Its proportions have been carefully considered to create a subtle structural frame that supports the overall volume. This central feature invites guests to connect with each other, sharing moments while tasting the wine produced from the landscape around them.

Spatial Organization

The overall form of the building appears to gently rest on the edge of the landscape, giving off a feeling of lightness. Within the structure, spaces are arranged to include a wine cellar, kitchenette, and casual built-in areas. Each of these spaces is designed to promote socializing, aligning with the concept of bringing people together in shared enjoyment of wine.

Aesthetic Considerations

The design draws from modern interpretations of traditional Portuguese architecture. It features clean lines and an orderly volume that fits harmoniously with the environment. Natural wood is used for both the exterior and interior surfaces, which enhances the connection to nature. Large glass panels provide expansive views of the vineyard, making it easy for visitors to feel part of the landscape.

Design Experience

As guests move throughout the space, the architecture creates opportunities for engagement with both the interior and the outdoors. The emphasis on light and views complements the sensory nature of wine tasting. The long table remains a clear focal point, welcoming conversation. Meanwhile, the surrounding landscape frames each experience, deepening the connection between people and the land.
