The yoga house is set in a calm and open landscape, designed to connect with nature while offering a dedicated space for relaxation and practice. It features a modern design that emphasizes the relationship between indoor and outdoor elements. Positioned on flat ground, the building's layout supports a smooth transition from the natural surroundings to the interior environment.

Design Concept

The entry features a grassed porch that welcomes visitors and creates a natural transition into the building. A winding sidewalk made of natural stone leads to the entrance, enhancing accessibility and allowing for easy movement. This design encourages interaction with the landscape and reflects the overall theme of tranquility and wellness.

Spatial Features

One distinctive feature is the wraparound cantilevered deck, about one meter wide, which opens directly from the practice room. This deck extends the space outdoors, providing areas for relaxation and reflection. The utility block is situated to house essential rooms and hallways without disrupting the overall flow of the building, maintaining efficiency while ensuring a cohesive appearance.

Light and Ventilation

Natural light is a significant aspect of the design, especially in the practice room, where a glass partition runs along the east to west side. This feature allows ample sunlight to flood the 80-square-meter space, creating a bright atmosphere for activities. The glass can be adjusted to promote airflow during warmer months and to improve insulation in cooler weather, showcasing a practical approach to comfort.

Material Selection

The building uses locally sourced wood for construction and natural stone for the pathways. This choice of materials emphasizes a commitment to sustainability and enhances the connection with the environment. Using resources from the area helps to ground the project in its setting, creating a sense of belonging and authenticity.

The high ceiling in the practice room contributes to a feeling of openness, inviting users to connect with their surroundings and enjoy a spacious atmosphere. This thoughtful design detail enriches the overall experience of the space, making it a suitable environment for both practice and tranquility.
