Natural Materials Harmonize Within a Zen Garden Overlooking Scenic Cliffs

Project in-detail

A zen garden at the center, framed by a cherry tree and oriented toward breathtaking cliff views, creates a serene environment for yoga and meditation in this carefully designed wellness center.
5 key facts about this project
01
A central zen garden enhances the calming atmosphere of the wellness center.
02
The yoga studio is designed to maximize views of the surrounding cliffs.
03
Pilotis elevate the structure, creating a seamless connection to the landscape.
04
Showers are strategically placed to face greenery, promoting a sense of nature indoors.
05
Natural materials like timber and stone are used to emphasize sustainability and harmony.

The Tadasana Yoga House is located in the picturesque area of Vale de Moses. It serves as a place for yoga and meditation, fostering a deep connection between its users and the surrounding landscape. The design draws inspiration from the mountain pose, emphasizing principles of stability and grounding. The structure elevates above the ground using pilotis, allowing it to interact with nature while providing a calming environment for practitioners.

Design Concept

This structure emphasizes harmony with its natural setting. The Yoga Studio and Lounge are positioned strategically to take advantage of the views of the impressive cliff, enhancing the experience for users. A zen garden at the heart of the complex not only acts as a visual centerpiece but also offers a tranquil space for meditation, inviting a strong relationship with nature.

Spatial Organization

The layout features two main circulation routes. One route connects the building to nearby roads, ensuring accessibility, while the second encourages a natural flow that highlights the beauty of the environment. The design includes key features such as a prominent cherry tree on the deck, which blends the interior with the outdoor space, creating a unified experience for users.

Functional Aspects

The lounge area encourages community interaction, providing a space for people to gather after classes. Privacy is thoughtfully considered in spaces like the showers, which face greenery, allowing users to maintain a sense of being surrounded by nature. Ample storage is integrated into the design, ensuring that shared spaces remain organized and functional.

The Tadasana Yoga House utilizes materials like timber, stone, and masonry. These natural choices support sustainability and reinforce the connection to the landscape. The materials enhance the overall aesthetic while aligning with the project's focus on mindfulness and tranquility.

A notable aspect of the design is the zen garden, which incorporates plants and architectural elements to create an inviting environment. It encourages users to reflect and find peace, embodying the essence of yoga and connection with nature.
