The Monte D'Oiro Wine Tasting Room is situated in a vibrant Mediterranean landscape, designed to create an engaging wine tasting experience that emphasizes the link between architecture and nature. The setting invites visitors to connect with the land, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the local wines. The concept revolves around the idea of continuity, merging the built environment with the qualities of the surrounding landscape.

Spatial Integration

The design focuses on a smooth flow between existing and new spaces, allowing for easy movement and interaction among guests. This integration fosters a natural experience as visitors navigate through the tasting process. Each area is intentionally arranged to encourage exploration and discovery, promoting a deeper understanding of the wine and its origins.

Orientation and Views

The orientation of the building has been carefully considered to maximize views toward the south, southwest, and west. This arrangement provides visitors with clear sightlines of the scenic landscape, enriching their experience in the tasting room. The interplay between indoor spaces and outdoor views is essential to this design, enhancing the connection to the surrounding beauty.

Sustainability and Habitability

Attention to habitability is a key aspect of the design. Elements such as wind direction, sun movement, shading, cross ventilation, and temperature control are all factored into the overall plan to ensure a comfortable environment for visitors. By being responsive to the local climate, the design exhibits a commitment to sustainability, aligning with the needs of both the space and its natural context.

Materials and Regional Character

While the presentation does not provide an extensive list of specific materials, it emphasizes a sustainable approach aligned with the characteristics of Monte D'Oiro. The architecture reflects the local essence and engages with the landscape. Natural light plays a significant role, as large windows frame the vineyard views and allow sunlight to filter into the space, creating a warm atmosphere that evolves throughout the day.
