Natural Light and Communal Space Framed by Ceramic Tiles and Wood in Vineyard Setting

Project in-detail

Framed by large windows that connect the interior to the surrounding vineyard, the design emphasizes communal interaction through a central table and uses natural wood and ceramic tiles to create an inviting space for wine tasting.
5 key facts about this project

02
A communal table is designed to enhance social interaction among guests.
03
Natural wood and ceramic tiles are used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
04

05
Inspired by traditional Portuguese architecture, it combines rustic charm with modern functionality.

The design project titled "Convivium" is set in a scenic vineyard, focusing on creating a space that highlights social interaction and community. The concept is based on the idea of a banquet or gathering, promoting simplicity and functionality in its design. It is aimed at encouraging connections among guests while establishing a strong link between the interior space and the surrounding landscape.

Central Layout

At the center of the design is a large table, which acts as a focal point for guests. This inviting arrangement promotes interaction and conversation, inviting people to come together and share experiences. The open layout permits easy movement throughout the space, enhancing visibility and interaction, which reinforces the importance of social engagement in this setting.

Connection to Nature

Natural light is an important aspect of the design, with large windows providing views of the vineyard outside. These windows not only allow lots of light to fill the room but also connect guests with the beauty of the landscape. This interaction with nature enriches the overall atmosphere and enhances the wine tasting experience, making the interior feel both welcoming and engaged with the world beyond.

Material Considerations

The project incorporates a careful selection of materials such as wood, ceramic tiles, and concrete. Wooden elements bring warmth and comfort to the interior, making it feel cozy. Ceramic tiles contribute both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Concrete serves as a stable and durable choice for structural needs while maintaining a clean, straightforward appearance that aligns with the overall design approach.

Conceptual Framework

Inspired by traditional Portuguese houses, the design offers a modern take on rustic forms. It combines practical function with visual appeal. The emphasis on community and simplicity enhances the user experience and honors cultural traditions. This blend creates a space that supports togetherness and a deep connection to the natural environment.

The choice of furniture arrangements in the tasting room encourages flexible social interactions. Spaces are designed to accommodate both larger gatherings and smaller, more intimate moments, allowing guests to enjoy the communal aspects of wine tasting while remaining engaged with the surroundings.
